Saturday Morning

I got to spend the night last night with my Dad and Chris. It was actually quite smooth because I had a wonderful nurse named Michelle! Also, I made it through the night without throwing up! I feel so bad for my wonderful Mom though because she has been sick with the stomach flu, so she can't come and see me. Hopefully, she will be better on Monday for the reinfusion. Not that I am so excited about these landmarks but I am so excited that I am on my third to last chemo this morning. I have three hours of chemo tonight, and then 20 minutes tomorrow morning. And then infusion on Monday. By Tuesday, I will have been here for a week so that is one week closer to coming home.
Love,
Sherrie

Hi Sherrie,
I am so grateful that last night was better for you! I listened to your audio post last evening and cried with you.
You are almost finished with the nasty stuff, so I would think some kind of celebration would be on your "things to do" list for next week.
We took Sparky Beagle to the Farmer's Market this morning. It was his first outing where there were lots of other dogs:) I'm glad that it is only open on Saturday....I need to rest and recoup so that we can go again next week. Need to get this very energetic little critter socialized. In two years, I want him to be a registered therapy dog. He is smart enough, but am I??? Hope Saturday is a very tranquil and laid-back day for you. You're on the home stretch, so YOU GO GIRL!
Blessings,
Erin W.

Here's a "hospital joke" to cheer you up....

An old man, Mr. Goldstein, was living the last of his life in a nursing home.

One day he appeared to be very sad and depressed. Nurse Tracy asked if there was anything wrong.

"Yes, Nurse Tracy," said Mr. Goldstein, "My Private Part died today, and I am very sad."

Knowing her patients were forgetful and sometimes a little crazy, she replied, "Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Goldstein, please accept my condolences.

The following day, Mr Goldstein was walking down the hall with his Private Part hanging out his pajamas, when he met Nurse Tracy.

"Mr. Goldstein," she said, "You shouldn't be walking down the hall like that! Please put your Private Part back inside your pajamas."

But, Nurse Tracy," replied Mr. Goldstein, " I told you yesterday that my Private Part died."

"Yes, you did tell me that, but why is it hanging out of your pajamas?"

You gotta love this!!!!!!!!!!!

"Well, he replied, "Today's the viewing."

Ok... if that one was too much of a 'groaner'... try this "teacher" humor instead....

According to a news report, a certain school in Garden City, MI, was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the washroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.

Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. He called all the girls to the washroom and met them there with the maintenance man. He explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night.

To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, he asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet bowl, and cleaned the mirror with it.

Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

Hi Sherrie,
Big time prayers for you this evening. I'm so glad that you were able to enjoy having Chris with you last night.
I just looked at the message I posted for you yesterday evening. I knew I was tired, but that is bad even by my standards:)
Sparky Beagle has gone to bed. We finally wore him out. We will be doing the same very shortly. You are almost at the end of the chemo! You have been a trooper.
Sleep well, and know that we are continuing to pray for you in sunny Florida.
Blessings,
Erin W.
